Yes – AddressHero validates addresses for both guest checkouts and logged-in customers. There is no difference in validation behavior based on login status.
How does it work for logged-in users?
When a logged-in customer reaches the checkout, AddressHero's extension loads in the shipping address step just as it does for guest customers. The address entered (whether pre-filled from their account or typed fresh) is checked against the same validation rules.
What about pre-filled addresses?
If a customer has a saved address in their Shopify account, Shopify may pre-fill the shipping address field at checkout. AddressHero will validate this pre-filled address and flag any errors – for example, a missing house number or an unrecognized postal code – just like it would for a manually typed address.
⚠️ Note: AddressHero validates the address at checkout time. It does not modify or update addresses stored in a customer's Shopify account profile.
