Our advanced UI extension
Since AddressHero can only block checkout attempts made via Shopify integrated payments after a format issue has been detected, our app offers an additional UI extension which also allows you to block checkouts made via redirect-based or custom payment methods (e.g. iDEAL, Bank transfer).
Disclaimer: Due to Shopify limitations to alter the checkout page, the extension is only available for Shopify Plus stores. Express Checkouts (e.g. PayPal Express, Apple Pay or ShopPay) can't be blocked.
How to install our UI extension (in-checkout validation)
Open checkout editor
On the top bar, select the checkout page
On the left sidebar, select apps
Add AddressHero to the checkout page
Press save to publish
What's the difference between Shopify integrated, redirect-based or custom payment methods?
As Shopify has a its own payment ecosystem natively integrated in the checkout flow, our validation function can use certain states to block the checkout directly.
You can set up the payment methods for your store via: Shopify Settings > Payments.

Since redirected-based or custom payment methods are payment methods that are not integrated within this native checkout flow, we need an additional UI extension to block the checkout.
