Step 1: Install DiscountHero from the Shopify App Store
Go to the Shopify App Store, search for DiscountHero, and click Install. You'll be redirected back to your Shopify admin to approve the required permissions.
Step 2: Add the DiscountHero extension to your checkout
DiscountHero works as a Shopify Checkout Extension. To activate it:
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout
Click Customize to open the checkout editor
In the top bar, select the Checkout page
In the left sidebar, click Sections → Add app block
Select DiscountHero from the list
Click Save to publish the extension
⚠️ Important: The app only works if the checkout extension is added and the toggle inside the DiscountHero app is set to active.
Step 3: Choose a plan and activate
After installing the extension, open the DiscountHero app in your Shopify admin and select a plan. All plans include a 14-day free trial – no risk.
Step 4: Verify the app is running
To confirm everything is working:
Go to your store's checkout
Enter a discount code that is restricted to new customers only
Complete the checkout using an existing customer email
DiscountHero should detect the duplicate and remove the discount code
